It's great to know people in good places! The price she gave me was her employee discount. and since she the manage I think she get an extra % off on top of the employee discount too.

All the NEWER version Rolex now have NO HOLES at the lugs with solid end piece now. This is the watch I have now. It a EXCELLENT watch like you said! I had it for a little over 3 years now and its been trouble free but it's time to get something new. Watches are just like cars you trading them in ever 3 year lol. A friend of my is interested in buying the seamaster that why I was looking for a new watch .

Sadly, that Timex most likely keeps better time than any Rolex, Omega, Breitling, etc.!!

My rich uncle that was worth around $40 million wore a Timex and drove a old flatbed chevy truck. People that really "have" alot of money don't wear expensive watches or drive nice cars. That's why they have alot of money, their smart But there is hope for me being rich someday since I do dress cheap and crappy, I got rid of my Rolex and I bought a 4runner instead of a Lexus But I'm worried about some of you other guys with the expensive watches :headslap:

Diamonds on the dial are too pimpy for me.

I like the all gold Subby with blue face. Now that's classy and just enough flash, but not overly ostentatious. Just the thing to wear while driving that 55 foot Hattera convertable.

Ulysses Nardin has some nice chronos. Bell and Ross produces the nice looking military style chronos without any of the flash and trash.

I like to buy things that ae very well made and classic--and keep them for decades...gives a feel of tradition and something of permenance in an impermenant world....kinda like those old Mercedes Benzes....now a nice 1970s 280 SE 3.5 convertable would be just dandy.....maybe a 1970s 280SL convertable.....nicely aged.....Catherine Deneuve next to me.....driving down the coast highway....sun settting.......

when i worked at a Lexus dealership many years ago, the owner had the solid gold Subby w/ a black face. it looked real nice. then i remember my uncle telling me how much it retailed for and nearly had a heart attack, hahaha.

anyone here like the GMT Master or Explorer II models? two of my friends just got the Explorer II's w/ the black face. nice looking watch as well.

I've had a Submariner for about 10 years. Great watch. If it is being offered for less than $4K, it is a fake or used.

BTW...you have to have the watch's oil changed every 2-3 years to keep up good time. The overhaul is usually between $200-300.

mine's due for a service this year. from my understanding they do more than change the oil. i hear they completely clean out the gearing and even rebuff the bracelet. i'm debating whether to have mine sent to the Rolex factory or have it done by a jeweler here in Princeton

From what i hear, it all depends on who you get as the Rolex repairman. Some serviced Rolex comes back with defects. Some comes back clean as a whistle.

There are two school of thoughts. One side recommends servicing the Rolex (or any other automatics) every 5 years. This is great IF you get a good service person who takes good care of your expensive watch. It's like changing oil in your car...it's a good thing for the most part.

On the other side, people are recommending to service your watch ONLY when it breaks. That is, disregard the 5-year oil change...and fix it when it breaks. These people states that changing oil often increases the chance of an idiot handling your valuable time piece. It's like taking your 4runner to "Bob's Quickie Oil Change." Again, even if you have Rolex service it, there are MANY horror stories on the Rolex (and other watch) forums about poor servicing. Remember, with a watch, you need to maintain water resistant seals, relatively dust-free environment, etc..

For me, i am with the second opinion...don't fix if it ain't broken.

I have that citizen. I love it. Great watch, great price, awesome bang for the buck. I spent another $100 and got the titanium bracelet to put on it. Like it much better than the rubber one. I will post pics if anyone likes.....My battery just died on it yesterday. I had it in my watch safe and forgot to recharge it over the past two months (solar powered, hence Eco-Drive). So, I have to send it back to Citizen to have it replaced.

Are you talking about the same model? That watch isn't made in the eco-drive. Or I would've bought it. I check citizen all the time to see whats new.

I have two chronos that are citizen, and you are right, I got them mixed up. Here are my pics.....

The battery did die nonetheless. I had simply assumed it was an eco-drive like my other citizen chrono.....The squared faced watch is my newest purchase (little over a year) Bulova chrono...

have u taken your aqualand on a dive? I wish they made it in the ecodrive, i have a feeling that it cant supply enough power for all the functionality or the dive memories.
I just got mine about 6 months ago, my dive buddy has used them for years and can't wait to do my 1st dive with it.
