E30RUNNER

So I purchased a 99 4runner with 83K miles and got the following work done to it.
-Coolant Flush
-Front & rear differential Flush
-Replace the PCV valve
-Cleaned the throttle body and the MAF sensor with air intake cleaner and MAF cleaner
-Changed the air, oil, and fuel filters
-Brake fluid flush
-Used the BG44K Emission cleaner set
-Timing Belt/ Water Pump
-Crank/Cam Shaft Seals
-Replaced Spark Plugs/Wires (NGK)
-Replaced the three belts I'm not sure what they all go to.
So I know all of these things I could've done on my own but in between work and my inexperience under a car I decided to shop around for a mechanic. My brother referred me to one in Chicago, he did an awesome job and charged me $390 for labor and the parts cost me $270. I thought the price was a steal even though he took a couple days with the car.
Anyway, my MPG better show some improvement or else I'm going to pull my hair out. now I can start shopping for upgrades since I have my major maint out of the way. First thing on the list is a nice set of tires, any suggestions? My girlfriend brother works at TireRack so I'm thinking I'll get a set of BFG All-Terrain... What do you guys think of the tire?
I'll stop rambling now.
