Hey guys,

I just noticed a thread on here from someone looking to sell his 98 4Runner. After reading all of your comments, I got thinking myself! Last summer, some guy left a note on my windshield looking to buy my rig, but I wasn't interested in selling it.

I'd like to hear what your thoughts are.

It's a 98 4Runner SR5 V6, Auto tranny, with 173 000km's, clean interior, no body rust, and some undercarriage rust. It's got 890 coils in the rear, with Skyjacker 2.5inch lift shocks, Toytec Spacer in the front with the diff. drop. The rig has the deckplate mod, 16X8 Procomp Wheels with 33" Maxxis Bighorn tires, and also the stock wheels with a set of 31" Mickey Thompson BAJA ATZ on them. I've got the not so popular Chrome Nerf Bars, Window vents, and bug deflector, and a custom built Rear Tire Carrier that is completely removeable. I've got a custom made Safari rack that I mounted with backup lights and driving lights, as well as custom mounted Safari light bar in the front with 2 driving lights mounted. Almost everything works on it, including the AC, and E-Brake, and I have new Rotors pads, and shoes going on the rig very soon. The only issue I have right now, is the rear wiper arm is stripped, but the wiper motor stud is good and I think if I buy another wiper arm, that it will work fine. I've got all of my receipts for everything I've done to it, but don't keep oil change receipts as I do the oil changes myself.

kbb it.... i know u will hate to hear me say it but its never worth what u put into it... you might be able to sell it for a little bit more then kbb private party sale but i mean a smidge more.

Well kbb says about $6,800 private party in good condition. I've seen comparable runners (with similar mileage) sell for $5000, so probably somewhere in that range.

I'd pay $5000 for it. Maybe $5300. It's a nice looking truck, but nothing rare or special about it to draw extra money.

Can you post interrior pictures too? I just blew a rod on my engine so might be looking at other options but plan to also keep mine. No point in getting rid of it if I don't owe anything on it. I like the green assuming you plan to sale.

I'll take that as a compliment! I don't have any interior pics right now, but have some posted on my Car domain page....http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2892481/7 .

I'm not planning on selling it right now, cause I still need it to haul my Tent Trailer and other stuff. If I did sell it, I'd have to buy a Taco, and well, I can't afford to buy one right now. I really like the New Body Style Tacos, but at $27 000 for a 2005.....I can't afford it!

I was just currious to see how much she would be worth right now, because I told the wife, i'd be lucky to get $7000 for it.

personally i would never buy someones built rig unless it was absolutely perfect to what i wanted cause if it wasnt i would be ripping stuff off and changing stuff even though its cheaper to buy one already built i would rather do it all myself and a built rig has more then likely seen mud already so better to start fresh... JMO

It would be worth an extra couple hundred if you take the A-Bar off, put the stock rims on, and take those headlight covers off.

What's an A-Bar?? I understand that not everybody would want a built rig, so all the add ons would be removed for sale. The headlight covers were only added because I had the ugly old style headlights, and used them to cover and protect them because i had a small chip in one of them from a rock while driving down the highway. I have the stock rims with the Mickey Thompson Tires on them. The Procomps and mud tires are only the summer set.

I'm not really looking to sell it, just curious what it would be worth, with the options it has, and the condition of the paint, chrome and undercarriage.
