What I think you can do is maybe buy the bracket from a junkyard that has a 4Runner with the sunglasses glove compartment and dome lights in one without moon roof.
Copy the shape of the opening of the same 4Runner in the junk yard so you can trace it exactly to your headliner (although you may be able to use the FMU itself)
My FMU has the controls for the moon roof and it may be so that the hole is not in the same place as the FMU without the controls as yours. Maybe you dont need to drill a new whole and use the original on the bracket. You will find out.

When you connect the FMU, it has two systems - one that has power constantly (for the compass) and one that has power only when the key is in the ACC position (FMU illumination, altimeter, barometer, temp sensor).
Ripcord mentions this.
What I did was I connected the compass wire to original dome wire because dome lights have constant power, even without the key.
The other wire I connected to the junction block that has the fuses. I believe I connected it to the ACC fuse or the GAUGE. I dont remember, but I can check.
The themosensor I bought from a junkyard here in Bulgaria from Hilux Surf ( the equivalent of the 4Runner but with a right hand drive)
I think Toyota can supply you with it.
Anyway, if you happen to be a Ham radio operator, the original controls for the moonroof make great controls for a screwdriver antenna, which i plan to use when i make mine. Or beam lights or whatever... :becky:
