What does this wire go to?

OKAY. So let's try to get to the solution. The switch in this case appears to be Transfer Switch No. 3, p/n 84222-35070 aka ADD Inicator Switch A10 on the '99 EWD. That connector housing is p/n 90980-11250 if you want to buy a new one and you have usable wire treminals lying around. It is a gray two-wire plug, just to confirm.

So a little Googling reveals that this switch is used as back-up light switch on several other models and is in enough demand that a bunch of folks carry the whole pigtail. The pictures show these do match up to the pinout A10 diagram in my '99 paper EWD, page 204. Suppliers include:

Home >> Shop >> Connectors / Harnesses >> Yazaki >> 2 Way Connector Plug Pigtail for Toyota Transfer case, backup lights 90980-11250 (BUL & 4WD indicator)

Amazon.com

Walmart.com

Here is the end-on shot of the first pigtail above. Clearly a good match to the male switch above:

Note again that what Toyota sells under this p/n is just the housing, no wires, and the MSRP is $12.15. You would then need two repair wires, if you can't junk source them. They are pretty common. But I can look up the p/n for them if your heart is set on new OEM replacement. I just can't do it on this computer. The housing looks like this:

Hope this helps...

I deleted the comments to prevent confusion as the my information was wrong. I was thinking originally the temp sensor, then I was thinking possible the add side which was wrong section. So it was best to delete the wrong info out to clean this thread. :-)

I will never understand your constant need for recognition. Its almost as if you have major ego issues.

I mean you actually got jacked and attacked me because I didn't mention you. I really hate to say this but that is silly and no reason to violate forum rules. I have had people ignore me on threads not acknowledge things and really didn't think anything of it. As the goal of this forum is to get things fixed and help people. Not be about a person, nor how many threads they have. Nor how many likes as if that is reason folks are here. These are things are irrelevant.

I have no problem ever being corrected when information is wrong. This is how people learn and get better. Understand things more thoroughly. I just have a major problem being called a stoner or saying I am high or be made fun of. Plus you actually did it because I didn't acknowledge you in a thread.....

I am sorry, I have no words for this. :/

Another thing... Please don't call me Dude, My name is Brillo or Jon.. I am not a surfer. :-)

I'm just sharing my observations on your contribution to this subject matter Jon. It was pretty out there.

I don't need constant recognition. Now, do I have an ego? At some level I guess I do. It's human nature to feel good about helping people. So yeah, when someone recognizes my contributions, it's nice. Running my YouTube channel isn't a big money maker. What I feed off of is I know I'm helping people. People commenting on our videos and letting us know we helped them out is the thing that keeps us motivated to keep doing it. If I was doing it just for the money, I would have quit a long time ago.

I just found it interesting and annoying how you could read past my original post and than my exchange with Charlie. Like I said, this thread is pretty short. One of the jobs we have as contributors is to read through the comments so we know what was already contributed by others. If it was 20 pages long, I would excuse you acting like I didn't exist. I called you out on it, and you took offense to my gruff communication style. I agree it's not for everyone. I've worked as a Correctional Officer, Deputy Sheriff and Firefighter and this type of language is used day in and day out. You definitely wouldn't have survived in Pubic Safety work.

Now that I know you're a little on the sensitive side, I'll be more professional with any exchange with you in the future. But, most likely, further exchanges with you probably won't happen. It's one of the nice things we can choose as contributors of this forum. So Jon, ignore me in the future to your heart's content.

Tim. We litterly had to switch to email and private messing and email for these connectors over you to get this fixed for the OP needs help.

Why don't you just let it go. I am getting paragraphs again trying to justify yourself. Which I asked you not to do. Ok. I made a mistake on identifying some connectors.

You just do not do what you did. If you can't understand that making fun of people is wrong I can't help you.

Please stop as I am really close to reporting this to moderators as now its way off topic and when people ask you to stop and you don't what choice are you leaving me.

I am done with this subject already. Its extremely off topic and a waste of time. Best of luck to you. :)

Yeah, I'm beyond done too. Have a nice life.

For Future readers:

I found the harness piece I thought I had. I read these off the connectors as every connector first numbers are always 90980 -xxxxx

The female connector on the actuator switch part number 90980-11250

The second male connector up from the actuator switch part number 90980-11155

The connector off the main harness that Tim identified and phattyduck verified part number 90980-11156.

For the wire connectors pigtails, I add the Wire Harness Repair manual [RM1022E]

Hopefully, this will help others down the road.. :)

I am also seeing another issue..tapatalk is leaving out comments or not always loading things. I never saw TheDurks additional comments on this thread until now with part numbers...Interesting.. Very interesting indeed. Unless the forum is not indexing correctly. Who knows. :-)
