its an old nick name i got when i first started turning wrenches, i was just a kid at the time, working in a tire shop, doing mount, ballance, rotaion and flat repairs ect. then left that at 21 and moved up working on cars in a legit shop. started off and shop bi*ch and errand boy, then assistant tech to the lead tech in the shop/ drive-ability tech, then full tech, in a independent german car shop/tuner. i left that job shortly after the tech position to go be an assistant tech again, this time working on fleet vehicles(ambulances)... anyhow all of these places i was the youngest guy(except for maybe the tire shop), but was defiantly young looking, so i got the nick name, and i would always get the same one at every new job, it was like i had it tattooed on my forehead or something -im sure it helped that i have always looked younger than i am(still get carded from time to time). and now that im in the military(oddly enough i was one of the "old guys" when i went though basic training at 24) the unit im in i still get called that cause everyone thinks im like 21 or 22... so i get called that by those guys as well... crusty old bastards -i love you guys!
anyhow thats the story behind my name, im not a kid any more though, have kids of my own now. pretty soon im gonna get called gramps...
