What has Toyota added for 2010?

Lets see: Bigger, more room, more power, better fuel economy, Bluetooth, XM, USB port, leather heated seats on SR5, blah blah blah.

They removed some minor items, but it's not close, 10x better than than my 2005 SR5.

Quality.

Outside the ligitimate complaints of a lack of a V8 I see mostly see people miss stuff like LEDs,HIDs and burger trays;bunch of softy 4th gen owners.:boxer:;):

I have to say, while I liked the 4th gen, I didn't consider it at all for my 3rd vehicle because of the bad gas mileage and lack of interior appointments on the SR5 (bluetooth, ipod USB particularly). The 5th gen rectified those and I think it looks absolutely badass.

Good list, though. Any other "adds" that I'm unaware of would be nice to know.

On the Limited:
Smart Key
-> includes remote control (up and down) of the rear window
20" Wheels
Standard moonroof (was optional)
Standard X-REAS (was optional on Limited)
15-speaker JBL (versus 10-speaker JBL option)
Optitron gauges

On the SR5 V6 & Limited:
Turn signal repeaters in mirrors
Puddle lamps in mirrors
Body-colored mirrors (black on the 4th Gen SR5)
Tilt & telescoping steering wheel (was tilt only on some 4th Gen models)

On all:
Driver & Passenger knee airbags
Auto up/down on all windows (previously driver only)
Standard tow hitch

Much easier to wash!

Much easier to wash than my 4g. Not near as many nooks and crannies.

Auto up/down on all windows (previously driver only)
Standard tow hitch

And the auto up/down/open/close on all windows DOES include the moonroof and rear glass as well!

Oh, and Party Mode (looking forward to going to the Drive In with the whole family)!

Ha ha ha :) I have a second gen SR5. It has a 4 speaker sound system and 3.0 v6 that gets worse gas mileage that that 4.0 v6.

It's just a superior vehicle. People that ride in the vehicle can't believe the difference. The transfer case issue isn't significant, to me. I had a V6 and don't want a V8.

As you can see, I love the car.

-Wiper de-icer
-Adjustable seatback angle on the second row for two row seat 4Runners
-Lower body skirts for the SR5 and Limited
-Optional KDSS on the TE
-Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select on TE
-Optional SOS
-Dual VVT-i
-40/20/40 split second row

Opinions vary.

4th gen owners are obviously going to be biased but I think the 5th gen is more of a progression of the 4Runner lineage than the 4th gen was.

It very well might be. However, how many actually drive off-road or truly take advantage of the 4Runner off-road attributes?

The losing of the Torsen differential IMHO is FAR more of a loss than the 'supposed' gain of the 5th Gen!

I've seen the 5th Gen, though haven't had the time to take one out on the road, or off-road. That time will come.

The stats say that 95% of the SUV's never leave the pavement. If the 4Runner has 'better' stats, say, 80% never leave the pavement...

Then the Torsen is much more advantageous!

I absolutely hated to shift from 4Hi back to 2WD when the pavement got dry and then a few miles further, it got wet and icy. I drove like that for A LOT of years but didn't have an alternative in Toyota.

With Torsen, you could drive dry, wet, mixed, it didn't matter.

I still say that the factory designers were off their 'cost-saving' rockers to eliminate the Torsen!

The 5th Gen drivers could sing all the praises of the system. That's good if they truly like their vehicle.

But if you've ever driven with the Torsen and went back to a 'part-time' 4WD system, it's pure regression... and NOT an improvement.

YMMV, but the removal of the Torsen was the 'make or break' deciding factor for this guy who drives on all types of pavement, off-road, ice, snow, dry, rain, sand, you-name-it.
