what i did for turkey day

i really got into the spirit of being on the mason-dixon line for tday, so much so that I went 4wheeling a bit inbetween bouts with the turkey. forded a river and then got into some mud. I'm pretty impressed with the T4R in stock trim. The mud was pretty deep, with 12 inch deep ruts at some points. I came pretty close to bottom out on those, but still got through with no real problems. Would still like to have some more clearance, maybe some spacers and taller tires are in the future. I've heard only bad things about the stock dunlops, and they don't look like a good mud tire at all, but still didn't have too hard of a time. With some real mudders and some more clearance I could see the black beauty really tearing it up. So much for keeping her clean :laugh

gas kinda hurts...but i had a diesel before, and i'm still way cheaper than that with the way diesel prices are. its a really big car, which is funny cause my diesel was a large MB sedan. there's a slight vibration that's just a slight audible noise now that wasn't there when i bought it. that's a real minor problem though. black is a bitch to maintain. I've been in the snow, and now the mud with it, no real complaints. its not as geared for the offroad as past models it seems, but it hauls my bike in a trailer really well, which is the main reason i got it. sleeps two people with ease also, i'm 6'2" lol.

i was looking at the h3, pathfinder, xterra, and f150 fx4....i made the right choice, imho.

Yeah they did pretty well when I went to Rausch Creek a few months.

Nice pics.....glad you had fun. The stream crossing looks like a blast.

I did my wheeling the day after T day. Lot of mud and water. went down some really tight almost atv trails and striped the truck up , but had a blast.

I too am very impressed with the 4r in stock trim , although I do have larger tires on (265/70/17 Revos). all was fun. It was very deep water holes and alot of ruts. With proper navigation I had no problems with bottoming out.

The mud was a bit tricky and was a little uncomfortable with the Revos , but they did the job I guess, but very slippery in the mud.

Looks like fun. For my thanksgiving, I went to go pick up my 4runner Looks just like yours (07 and v8 though)

Love it so far and can't wait to try a little offroading
