what if... you had to get rid of your 4th gen?

what would you get? I have been trying to figure this out myself because i can trade my 4runner up for something bettter in about 2-4 years! I would not like the the runner i think it is not as good. the price range has to stay under 30k and it has to be reliable an SUV or truck and as good if not better then the 4th gen! o and definitely stick (main reason i want to trade the runner D: ).

my top choices would be the FJ40 with the jump seats in the back on the sides, but it is old and idk if it would be AS reliable as the runner
fj cruiser but i do not like the limited visibilty even though it is there for more protection...
or an awesome taco thats been souped up! (that is the right way to spell souped right?) haha

can someone else give me some ideas on any vehicle what so ever i am taking all considerations

80 series LC. Wanted one for years and they are beef from the factory. But if i HAD to get rid of the Runner id just craigslist all my other stuff, my friends all have TVs so its cool.

I have to next year. Will be getting married and she wants a SUV. I did not want two SUVs in the house so the future wife will get the 4Runner (i cant let the V8 go). I will be getting this (while still being able to have fun with the 4Runner on the weekends)

I'd probably get a 6sp Tacoma TRD 4x4, its the best north american option out there for a small size pickup and with a properly tuned supercharger and other goodies you looking at 0-60mph in time that's as fast as a Porsche Cayman!

I'd think about getting a FJ, who cares about rear visibility...you should be looking forward anyways :biggrin2:

well i just read up on the FJ80 seems pretty beast.... i still like the fj40 better but the fj80 is newer.....
only problem was the a manual fj80 is very rare apparently
so basically everyone likes the idea of a taco or something with the word FJ in it? haha

We have an FJ80 at my house. It's a sweet truck. The 4.7 that is available in the 100 trumps the solid axle that comes in the 80 for me. Unless you plan on seriously lifting it the IFS will hold just fine.

I second the FJ40. It might take a while to work out the kinks but once you do, it will be just as reliable as anything else.
