with bulbs like those, it's not needed because our harnesses can handle it. i have 100W nokyas in my low beams for two years now.

for HIDs on the other hand, it's highly recommended that you use a wireing harness to power the HID ballasts directly from the battery. the harness consists of a relay and a few fuses. so your stock harness is only used to power the relay which will then activate a switch for your battery to power the HIDs. this saves you from the risk of short circuiting your harnesses and $300 at the dealer to fix it.

IMO those bulbs are not worth your money.

oh! i have no intentions on purchasing. i just saw it on ebay as i was doing my weekly search, and thought that it was odd. almost as odd as the "+20 hp chip" for $9.99! haha. that is all. i am happy with my silverstars and my hella 550's.

HID Ballasts upon startup draw 3 times the current of halogen bulbs, that is why you can't use the stock wire harnesses. After they are warmed up it drops down and draws less than halogen but the initial warmup would mess up the stock wiring. Just my 2 cents

This is not an HID setup, it is just higher wattage. The system looks pretty good because what you are doing is bypassing the stock power circuit and adding one that can handle the extra wattage. When you turn on your lights it activated a relay, which in turn completes a separate circuit. There're two things that are very important in this system; the separate power circuit is properly protected (fused) as close the battery as possible and the headlight fixture can handle the extra heat generated by the extra wattage. I wish I had seen this system before I went and bought better bulbs.

I was just talking about HID's because TranceKrayz mentioned it talking about not using stock wiring, we werent referring to the ebay item as being HID.

My post was just to make anyone who reads this thread to not mix up HIDs with the kit in the original post. It was not directed at anybody, sorry for the "Failure To Communicate" lol.

P.S. I just ordered a set of Philips Crystal Vision bulbs from this site, I will post a pic. of them next to Silverstars as soon as they are delivered.
