What is the 7th injectors purpose?

Ive been toying with the idea of S/C my 3RD Gen and i have been stumbling around the 7th injector kit..

What is the purpose of this modificaiton, and what kind of performance increases / decreases can i expect if i do this?

It will give you some more HP with the TRD blower. It is somewhat expensive. It can't be used on all model years. I couldn't use it with mine.

So is it just a system of delivering more fuel to keep up with the amount of air it can get pumped into the engine with the blower?

For approx $1000 you would add the 7th injector upstream of the blower. It should provide an additional 45HP, see details;

Just a little extra info:

The 7th injector, adds the fuel before the S/C, thus provide some extra cooling in the S/C (cooler air=more ense=more oxygen/volume) and decreases the ratio air/fuel. The decrease in the ratio reduces the possibility of pre-detonation (ping in the engine). Not only that but it also increases the total amount of gas that can be burn per explotion cycle. All together increases power.
