What is the "BEST" Cargo Liner?

I need to find out what the best cargo liner woul dbe for my 05 4runner. I have an 85lb yellow lab, and we are heading on a long road-trip so I need to have a nice liner in the back to protect everything, and hopefully contain most of his dog hair... I have the shelving system now, but I am going to take it out to make more room for him.

Bosconian, WOW that is really some protection back there .

Don't laugh but I was going to go to my local store and get a truck bed matte and cut it to fit the back if I ever need some protection back there.

I was a Xerox tech in the late 70's and early 80's and the bins we used were the same ones you have in the back of your truck. Although back in the day they gave us company cars to drive and the vacuum was a lot uglier. Doesn't seem like a good trade-off to me but what can you do, it's yet another example of how things have changed over the years. Me, I rather have the ugly vacuum and company paid 1980 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon but I'm pretty sure they're not going to go for it .

I still have a couple of the bins, as a matter of fact, but they're used to store Christmas ornaments these days. Don't tell my old boss

Nice liner by the way. I'm thinking of getting one even though I don't have a dog. Looks like it would provide great protection for whatever I need to haul.

I figured a Xeroid(even a former one) would recognize my cargo.

Actually, using my 4Runner was my choice. I used to drive a Dodge Caravan company car. But when they decided to put big logos on the van, I figure it's time to get a 4Runner and let the company help pay for it. I get an allowance to used my 4Runner which covers the note, insurance and gas. So, after 5yrs the Co. would have paid for the 4Runner, although I do cover for maintenance and any repairs(which is the reason I picked a 4Runner).

I like the liner because it also protects the sides, not just the floor. And by the way, I do have an 85 lb dog also to deal with.

How long does that take to put on? I like that design, I think it would be great for my backpacking and climbing trips so we can just throw all our dirty gear in the back. But I wouldn't want to leave it in there all the time.

Yes, $300 is not cheap..., but it gives full coverage.
Is this cover soft? I mean, if you have something in your trunk and when it rolls from one side to another, it is always better to have something soft on the walls. First, you protect your interior from cracks and also your language from damaging. Sometimes I have to use pillows from IKEA to work out this, but it's not the best choice.
Another question is how easy it to clean? Pressure washer or machine wash?

The closest thing I can compare the material is that of denim. It's sturdy although if a sharp object hit the sides it may leave an impression underneath.

Installation was a bit of a pain. It uses velcro for fasteners and some wedge clips(which I didn't use for fear causing some damage). Before I installed the liner, I've been using a protectant which made the surface slick. Even when I tried to clean the surface with alcohol and surface cleaners I still had to reinstall the velcro a second time when the velcro started peeling off. And there are a lot of velcro to install. The second time around, the velcro seems to be sticking better. Once the velcro is installed, removing and installing the liner will still be a bit of work but not a pain as the original install.

As far as cleaning it, I assume that machine wash in a large/commercial washing machine will work. Cleaning in place with a soapy solution and a brush will also work.
