does it improve any performance or what does it do? How does it improve performance if it does. Why not just get a intake. Im not being a dumb ass nor do we need smart ass replies

The reason for not getting an intake is mostly based on price, as for performance gains there are people that have seen gains during dyno runs while doing these mods, but in my opinion it mostly just sounds real nice :D

you might gain a little extra HP(like 1hp) from cutting a hole in your airbox, it will allow more airflow into your motor, the big restriction is the stock MAF. BTW, unless you plan on going off road all the time, and getting your runner in mudholes and such, you dont even need the deckplate. Just cut a big ass hole in the front of your airbox.

Correct me if im wrong.

Basically, the deckplate mode is an added hole, but one you can close off for off roading, and maybe california emission checks.

It did work for me, but regardless the beauty is its a 9 dollar investment and if you don't like you it you can close it and pretend it never happened.
