What is the going price on a 2001 runner???

$6,500 maybe, I'm not too sure.

Its hard to say. I would check KBB and Edmunds.com for a rough idea then check Auto Trader and list it around that price. If you need to sell quick list it for less then average or if you have time to sit listed it for slightly higher then average.
In my market 4Runners were going for cheap last winter when I bought. They rebounded big time this past Spring and were briefly going for thousands more then I paid. However so far this Summer prices went into the toilet again. I am thinking the latest round of gas price increases is killing the SUV market again.
Being a Toyota if the market is right they will get top dollar. If you don't have to sell it might be worth holding on to it for a while. Unless it gets good fuel economy the market sucks right now. I bought my wife's Corolla for cheap last March but now they are going for a premium. If gas prices drop the market could flip flop.
Owning 10 year old Toyota's is interesting. Once they reach a certain point they don't drop in value much. Its actually possible to buy low and sell high based on market fluctuations. Of coarse they are big time liabilities in other ways so its not a good investment period but kind of funny how things have been working lately. For example when gas prices are low you can pick up a 10 year old Corolla for 3.5 to 4K. As soon as gas reaches $2.50+ per gallon that same car will go for 5K to 6K easy.

Clemson fan is pretty much right in the ball park.
That's not low miles, it is not 4wd, it's not a Limited... I will say closer to $6K even if you are lucky.
Personally I never understood the point of a 4Runner without 4wd but differing driving conditions call for differing vehicles.
Maybe more if you have some top notch audio in there-

Well I just spent about a month looking at 4runners and you are right, there is a HUGE range in asking prices. I was looking at 99-02 models and prices were anywhere from 5000 to 18000 depending on condition, milage, and seller motivation. If your a motivated seller I would just list it for a couple hundred under KBB. If your not motivated, I would list it at or maybe a couple hundred over KBB. The amount of calls you get will tell you how appropriate the price is.
I finally ended up finding a 99 SR5 4x4 for 6500 and scooped it up.

Believe me, I wish it was 4wd too. I would not be thinking about selling it if it was. I'm a big hunter so I would love to have 4wd. I had a 4wd Nissan Titan and sold it and bought my wife a new Nissan Murano and took over her 4runner for the time being. I have a 4wd ATV so I'm not in a big hurry, but i would like to sell it and get something with 4wd for the same price.

It has good Michelin tires on it. They have about 20k miles left on them probably. Good condition though with no cuts and have been rotated every other oil change.
There is a 1999 Limited 2wd with the same body moldings and rims as mine with 144k miles for $7999 at a little used car lot. I was kind of thinging about basing my price on it. But I haven't even listed mine yet.
I still haven't decided for sure. But I would like something 4wd for hunting you know.

I think $8K for a '99 2WD Limited is a bit high...
