What is the inner fender material called?

I have a 2003 V8 Ltd., but the material that separates the engine compartment from the wheel well is long gone.

It's splash guard or whatever that would be directly behind the wheel if you kneeled down and looked toward the engine from either front wheel.

I can't find the part on any parts diagram anywhere.

Does anyone know what it's called?

Not sure what it's called but I've seen a few guys are buying a large trash can from Lowes, Home Depot, etc and cutting the size they need out. Use a heat gun if you need to make it conform a little. This is what I plan on doing after I get my body lift on.

Call your dealer and have them fax you the schematic for the apron. I've got it in my glovebox, I'll try and post later.

I tried getting someone to make me a template a few months back and no one came trough. There is a rubber sheet material on mcmasters.com that someone used and I was going to order. Can't remember the exact material but is was something like this:

Making templates now, if anyone wants one message me an address to ship them too. Tracing them on heavy construction paper we put on floors in houses to protect it while painting.

I do not have my 03 anymore but I had replaced 3 of the shields in the last several years when they dry rotted and started coming off. I ordered new ones from one of the discount oem Toyota parts places. They did not cost that much. Much easier than trying to make new ones and they only took about 5 minutes each to install. I threw away most of my old paper work so I do not have part numbers

Stupid question... but would it not have been easier to scan the original rubber mats into a computer, rasterize it, and then import it into a program like Sketch-up/SolidWorks/AutoCAD/ect. that will allow you to annotate one section of the draw with the measurement from the real world unit and/or if your scanner notes what size the object is; thus letting the program determine what scale/size the image is?

At least that's how I would have done it if you're trying to make a repeatable process for producing these based upon an existing part/measurement/tracing.

As I scrolled through the comments I was thinking this exact same thing. The file could be stickied on the forum even, not only making it more accessible, but also saving money on postage, time, and effort.

Yes, industrial neoprene rubber is some seriously awesome stuff! I use it for all sorts of purposes in my garage. It is EXACTLY what I was thinking I would use for my fender liners. It can handle all variety of chemicals, heat, dirt, grime...... whatever. Now, I too need to get templates.

That does sound like a great idea, unfortunately I don't have access to a scanner. Pretty sad really since I have so much tech in my house it's ridiculous! lol.
