... specifically the 'metal looking plastic thingie' (how's that for a technical term!) that says:
"V8 4.7L" etc.

Mine (2004 SR5 V8) has cracked ... and I can't seem to find it new or used (haven't tried calling the stealership yet).

It's a Throttle Body Cover, listed under the Fuel Injection System. For some reason it has two part numbers, 22266-50050 and 22266-50060. Not sure what the difference would be. List price is $60.29 either way.

I think one might have the "VVT-i" logo on it and one does not, but that is just a guess.

I think the VVT-i one might also be black. Unless I'm thinking about the intake manifold on the ones with VVT-i.
