What is this part name... and should I even replace it?

I've got a 2016 SR5 that just passed 34,000 miles, and I noticed this rubber, triangular corner piece on the lower outside corner of my windshield is missing.

Anyone know what this part name or number is?

It looks like it's just designed to keep water and air off the bottom seal of the windshield. It has just a snap-in attachment, making it easy to fly out and lose. Wondering if it's even worth replacing, as it will surely fail again if it's gone at only 34k miles.

The one on the other side is loose as well -- the downside of so many stuff-in plastic parts on the 5th gen I suppose.

Hey guys just wanted to revisit this Cowl Cover Seal issue... I'm having the same issue. Mine is on the passenger side.

When it rains, or when there's a fair amount of dew, I hear a pretty distinct dripping in the car. However, I don't feel or notice any signs of water getting into the interior. No wet floormats, no drips around the plastic trim pieces...

Any advice or has anyone heard the same noise? It's definitely only happening on the passenger side, and that's the side where the cowl cover seal is missing. Is there any chance that water could be getting into somewhere it really shouldn't be?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Ex glass guy here…. Typically under the cowl is the wiper linkage and motor. This is almost like a tub with a drain system out of the vehicle.

Now, if your getting water on the floor, typically that drain is clogged and overflowing.

I wouldn’t be concerned about this corner trim other than cosmetically.

That part squeaks like a mofo on mine. Def find a way to secure it if you get a new one.

I put a couple dabs of silicone caulk on mine to hold them down, and tight against the vehicle. IIRC, about three dime sized dabs per side. It's held up for a few years and I think would pull apart if needed.

I just ran some wiring.. and they were meant to pop on/off; at least they are on my 2021.

They just "snap" in and sit there.
