When I removed my bumper I found this plug. Does anyone know what this is for? Block heater? I have no idea.

I already have factory fog lights, and you can see the cut wires that used to go to them to the right of the plug. I haven't rewired those yet. Good try. There is a close up pic above. It is a female plug, I think.

Drivers side only. You can see the plug wires are bound with the turn signal and fog light wires.

great minds think alike!

Thanks for the pic, as it is more clearly shows the plug. (funny that you had the same curiousity...)

Anyone out there with a limited care to stick their head under there and see if their plug is plugged into something? Perhaps the "temperature sensor", as suggested previously?

Correct! It is the plug for the outside air temp thermistor. (limiteds)

So what does that do? Is it something that can be added to less-than-limited models, and would it be worth the bother?

I hate to have a plug available for something and not use it...

Outside Air Temp?

I have a '97 Limited and don't have an outside air temp gauge. Was this only on certain years? Can I retrofit it? If so where does the temp display at?

99+ limited models have the auto climate control. The outside temp is a function of that module. I don't think adding a sensor would do much for you, without having the computer and display on the other end.
