Does anyone know what the rectangle holder is used for (it's next to the 4WD stick and below the cupholder)? Is it for coins?

They shrunk that holder down quite a bit for the non-Limited editions. See below:

So the 5th Gens don't have the neat little coin holder in the center console storage area anymore?

The one picture here looks worthless? Seems like anything you put in that, would just end up on the floor the first time you turn a corner?

they do have the coin-holder in the center console. but it's only for quarters—one slot.

you mean like the wide-ass-open storage area on the passenger side in the rear cargo area? :wink2:
honestly, where was the guy or gal who insisted they include the snap-in door panel for the same location on the 4G?

I'm not sure what you mean?

the snap door in front of the cup holders on the 4th gen, even tho it's not the best design, is actually usable. I keep gas receipts in mine.

White Castle mini burger tray (to replaced the deleted one as in the 4th Gen.)

Seriously, is there a passenger side cup holder anywhere else? Now that's a deal breaker if there isn't.

higher up in this thread is a pic of the Limited center console which shows the other cupholder. it's to the rear of the shifter on the passenger side.

It is probably done for those that have the optional 3rd-row seat. That way the minitature people that sit in those seats have a small place to put their stuff.....

Hadnt noticed that before. I guess it would be useful even if it just had a net in front of it, I am sure something could be retro fitted. I wouldnt be opposed to putting screws into the plastic. You can see a real pic of it on pg 2 of the new owners pics thread.

The passenger cupholder is below the shifter (not in the picture). There are also cup holders in all doors as well as the backseat center armrest when not used as a seat.
