just looked under the hood and noticed this little hose cam undone. looks like the previous owner tried to put some foil on it and crimp it back in place. also just realized a couple bolts are missing on the engine. i think the previous owner was a tweaker,:smokin: anybody know what that thing does or goes to?

its a VSV. vacuum switching valve.

likely for the AC. when you turn the AC on, the engine should idle up slightly. its not a big deal if its not working correctly. mine was bad for many years.

also, those 2 empty bolt holes in the front are just accessory holes, they don't go all the way into the VC.
