Just read this on truck trends. Says it is a recent pic of a camo'd 5th gen....the writer explains in the link....So why the camo in what looks like to be the already on-sale 2010 4Runner? Is Toyota planning a new trim line or testing a new engine? What's your take on this?[/url]

My guess? A Toyota engineer is driving the same pre-release 2010 4Runner mule that was photographed before the launch. There's no reason for it to be covered up still; at the same time, there's no reason why they'd remove the camo after launch.

Second guess: it's a test mule with the 4.6L V8/6-speed auto combo.

There is NO reason to camo it if it just has a new engine and tranny. My guess is they would use a 'normal' 10' and just drive that around, hmmm would get a lot LESS attention.

We can all hope its a V8 or a Trail Edition with a manual and better crawler gears and a front locker !!!.....maybe a development mule for a new Tacoma? I know the 4th Gen T4R came out before the last gen Taco as well....who knows?
