What is up with my windshield?

When it rains it looks like someone smeared oil on it. The water doesn't bead up...it is borderline dangerous. It is really hard to see out the window. I remember reading something about a coating on our windshield. I used zaino glass polish about 2-months ago on both my Z and my 4runner. The Z is great but the 4runner's windshield is really bad. Chemical reaction?

Don't know...help!

It must be some kind of reaction. I tried to use some RainX on mine a while back and it did not work like it does on every other car I have used it on. I think it is because of the coating that comes from the factory.

I've been using Rain-X windshield cleaner (includes Rain-X in it) ever since I bought the truck and it works great....wonder why you're having different results.

Did the dealer, by any chance, apply some kind of protective paint treatment as an option? If so, maybe it is reacting with the Zaino.

Nope I didn't have any paint protector applied. It is really weird. I think I will try the rain x cleaner. It appears it is pooring outside...like your blades can't get the water off fast enough when it is sprinkling.

Thanks for the advice!

Stoners Invisible Glass Cleaner

I read in the detailing forum about Stoner's Invisible Glass Cleaner. I picked it up and it does clean glass very well. It even gets rid of hard weater spots after a couple of tries. Try cleaning your glass with Stoner's and then Rain-X it and you should be good.
