Two winters back we had a pretty gnarly inversion layer that wouldn't go away, which meant morning temps were -16F on the high end and -20F on the low for a solid week. My starter and battery were PISSED but started every time. That's when I bought a magnetic oil pan heater to ease the wear and tear. 80 bucks and haven't needed to use it since :doh:
