What kind of paint?

What kind of paint would be best for painting under my truck, because my skid plates are getting rusty, so are my running boards, and trailer hitch. I plan on sanding them down, then painting then again. what kind of paint would everyone recommend? Trimclad automotive? undercoating?

What year is your 4Runner?
You can change skids to BudBuild for up to 3rd Gen. Unfortunately nobody makes them for 4th Gen. yet.
Under the truck I'd recommend one of the bed-liners, gives your good protection; or co to CanadianTire and get there "Black Rubberized Asphalt Undercarriage Automotive Paint". This one will be the best choice for DIY. It's a green can in automotive paint section. I saw it for 8.99 for 1L or 22.99 for 4L. You can paint it with brush or roller. There are other products for such applications, but most of them required spray-gun.

My t4r is a 1991, I cant afford to replace it, because i just spent all my money rebuilding the top half of my engine. but I will take your advice and go to canadian tire, and look for that undercarriage paint. thanks!
