I'd want probably the premier lift out for it. I've checked Fabtech and Skyjacker, but they only make them for the Tacoma and Tundra. Any suggestions? I don't really wana go the spacer route, but rather a whole new suspension.
What lift kit for a '96 4Runner?

This is a nice setup that will still maintain a stock like ride since they sue low pressure shocks.
I'm still trying to decide between this lift and the Bilstein/Performance Products springs lift which gives slightly less lift (both proiduce close to 2" of lift) than the OME setup above but the ride is stiffer due to the Bils. Both cost nearly the same and work well on 3rd gen Runners and you can get plenty of feedback over on www.yotatech.com since many of their members have both these setups.
