What "noises" to expect from new suspension?

I got my Toytec 3" lift installed today by a local shop. First off, I LOVE IT! I have noticed it making some noises. I tested the suspension out by riding over a curb. I noticed a few "poping" noises and then I heard the sound a spring makes(i cant describe it, but most definitely a spring.) When I got home, I backed out of my driveway making a sharp turn and I heard the popping noise again. I plan on taking it back to the shop tomorrow because for some reason they unhooked my battery and now my fog lights don't work and my low beams seem to be on the fritz. I installed H.I.Ds and I may need a new battery connector for the low beams but I can't figure out what's wrong with the fog lights. All noises are coming from the front. I bought new upper control arms. I still have my stock tires also.

I actually just had 3 inch lift installed yesterday. ...and it does feel much larger good luck with your truck [emoji106]

If a shop did the work, take it back to the shop to be diagnosed. There are quite a few things that could be causing the popping sound you've described.

Keep us updated on what you/the shop finds. Going to be installing the same lift within a month.

I don't think you're supposed to have any noises. Make sure all the bushings were reset...

Also, check the springs as to if its seated well.

Make sure all the bushings are tight.

Are there any directions on how to check the bushings? I here squeakiness every time my springs get compressed or go over a bump and I also have the ToyTec 3" lift.

I took it back to the shop and they fixed it.. they forgot to install a washer or bushing or something and the whole control arm was moving! Yikes.

if it feels huge now just wait till you put larger tires and possibly a body lift if you feel so inclined. the difference my 1" BL made in the height feeling was huge. Plus my 35s get here this week.

But to the OP question, for anyone having excessive noise, check the bushing and balljoints plus your CVs for binding or low grease. as well as springs to see if they are seated and have no play in their seat.

When i installed my 3" Icon back in November, for a week or so i had all kinds of pops, thunks and dongs under the car. A few times the noises sounded like a piece of metal snapping and i could feel the vibration through out the vehicle. I kept checking bolts and torque specs, springs, etc and could not find anything visible to the eye or loose bolts.

The big issue was my rear sway bar was a little too loose and the front sway bar was as well. I put in some of the rubber spacers on the rear sway bar links and the noises seem to stop.

I heard a few springs make that "DONG" sound going over some speed bumps and i think it was the rear springs settling in, but for the most part the only noise i hear now is the front sway bar and i know it is the front sway bar because when i take it off, the noise goes away.

AND yeah, check those CVs/Joints/etc for grease and keep an eye on your wheel bearings.

Coming from the car world, this is very normal for a new suspension install, and can even occur just from getting weight off the spring and the vehicle into the air. It most often happens under heavy articulation, and when the wheel is at full or near full lock. It's the spring trying to settle and find the right grove, there's a lot of tension in there so it can be quite loud. If it's happening constantly I'd be concerned that something is a amiss, but if it's only during heavy articulation or full lock I'd give it some road time to settle in.
