What one Item would you love to have, but cannot find available, or mass produced?

If you cant see yourself using either idea, post some more. Nothing like sharing ideas. I would love to have a trailer hitch mounted spare tire. I don't think I will be able to design a swing away...

A fold down tire carrier is fairly easy to design/build. A universal style leaves large gaps and isn't snug to the vehicle. They do make them. The trick is to custom build for each style vehicle and hitch. This will put the tire and carrier tight to the vehicle and still allow the hatch to open when folded down. A swing away would be better but it would be hard to make it stable.

This may be far fetched, but I know of a few threads with the members constantly trying to find ladders that are #1) attractive, and #2) affordable. I'd kind of headed a thread at one point by contacting Bajarack directly to see if they could once again produce the product and also attempted negotiating price. They were kind enough to start the project to make a few for "T4R special members", but their price just never met the requests.

If you can find the threads, you'll see lots of interest on the topic. Ladders would be GREAT!! Anyhow, just my 2 pennies.....

Ladder=great idea

If the ladder was wider and ran right up the middle so you could reach both sides of roof rack that would be cool. One better might be a fold down type hinged at the bumper that could double as a loading ramp. I guess most people don't put anything quite that big or heavy back there though. Oh well, just thinking out loud.

i'm thinking people like to see out there back mirrors, but thats a cool idea about double duty maybe make it detachable, but that would make the cost sky rocket doing that, your talking way thicker material to support whatever your trying to load (can;t fit a bike in there...what are you trying to load?)
and the hinges would have to be robust as well also the hinges them selves would have to be custom to look good so that really a 2 part assy there as well, not trying to be a jerk but it just not practical going about it that way, cool idea though and like abstract though on it.

I agree with Brian on a full roll cage or at least one that goes from B-pillar to the rear cargo area. If it is front to back I would like one similar to this one for the XJ's. it doesn't interfere with entry/exit of vehicle by going alongside the dash instead of infront of it. I would like to see a solid well made sturdy reinforced nudge/push bar that was solidly frame mounted, had cross braces with light mounts, and maybe some D-ring mounts - and it MUST WORK for a solid winch point and a push bar.

Plug and play rear view camera setup at a reasonable cost-either integrated into rear view mirror/visor monitor or as a video input to radio/head unit.

Lots of people have fabbed up their own-but to know it works and has some manufacturer support/instructions is important to the less mechanically inclined amongst us.

bootown -colorado springs craigslist had a TJM aluminum (?) bumper a few days back. Irbis Off Road used to carry the few remaining in Colorado and may still have one or two. Steeze McQueen may be able to help also.

Sorry guys, my stay with that company was short lived. Super short term, and they had no ideas nor the will to make new things. Engineers I tell you. They are great, IF they work for YOU. So much drama with that whole situation. We did however get 60% done with the 3rd gen altimeter package before it was scrapped. Sad day.

I had some great ideas, we made them, but they could not keep up with the demand. Everything was scrapped, including my Mitsu EVO stuff. I gave them so much, they even used my business ideas and name... but, gotta let it go.

As ubiquitous as the 3rd Gen seems to be at times, it does get kinda frustrating that certain parts are either hard to find or just don't exist (why a projector headlight exists for 1st gen T4Rs and 1st gen Tacos but not 3rd gen 4Runners I'll never understand). Wish I could fly to Japan or Australia and head to a scrap yard, pick up a Field Monitor, this spoiler with the power backup mirror built in, etc. etc.
