What other car's have you wanted....

As I was responding to a post from some of the guys it brought up some memory's as a kid. We all have had that one car we have wanted or maybe two that is either so rear or hard to find or just plain $$$$$$. I know we all love our 4runners but what else do we love or have wanted in the garage. Is there a story behind it?


This is it for me:

1966 Sunbeam Tiger, Grandpa always loved the small British race cars. He loved Carroll Shelby he was most found of his early work in British Cars. So this is the best of both worlds. This car really hauled some ass for its time and even today it can still hang. Just cool. I would love to have one and build it with today's components. I think I can get a new 5.0 coyote motor in it, Bwahhaaaaaaa and a 5 speed.

When I was a kid, I always wanted a mid 80s Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.

I wanted an IS300 SportCross. I almost pulled the trigger last week but had second thought because I need the money for my kitchen remodeling.
I will get it in a couple years.

One car I've always wanted to do a project on is the 70-73 Pontiac Firebird. I've had four Firebirds (including two Trans Ams), and I always loved the smooth lines of the early 70's. My 70 model got scrunched in a T-bone accident, and I've never had one since. I also like the older Porsche 911/930 with the slope front conversion and competition-style whale-tail. Any of the BMW 6-series coupes, or the M-1. And the early Lambo Countach, with rear wing, without hideous front bumper (added for USA crash compliance).

Jaguar F-Type...saw my first ones in person today and it is a truly one of the best looking cars on the road today. I love it.

I'm actually looking for one of my dream vehicles as we speak. 1950 chopped merc. The other is a 1959 Impala, but I'm not going to own another classic convertible until I make a LOT more money. They're money pits on a whole other scale.

I've had my eye on an e60 M5 ... I can see why people hate this car after looking up labor time on common part replacement and after reading all the bad reviews on the SMG, but I'm a mechanic and not afraid to take on a challenge ... I wanna see what the hype is all about

I've seen two of these in my neck of the woods. I live about 4 miles from Road Atlanta and there are Porsche events all the time. Pretty cool. I always get whiplash when I see one.

I'm gonna be realistic in my "want car" ever since I was young and say I've always wanted a Datsun 240z with the small bumpers and now updated with a fuel injected inline-6. I still want that classic looks but with better brakes/suspension and engine. I would also shave all the trim for a smooth/clean body.

Being much younger, the car i always wanted is a bit different, growing up as a kid, i've always liked cars, and one of those cars i really liked was the 86 corolla, i remember watching initial D when i was in preschool, everyone was super rich and had nice cars but the main charactor had a 86 corolla, later on as i got more into cars the 86 corolla just grow on me more and more. it's not fast, its not the best looking, but it was a car with a lotta soul, high rev engine, light weight, proper 5 speed, RWD. i almost Bought an SR5 couple years ago over here at the states.sorry for the long post.

On the high end, I've always liked the Aston Martin Vanquish, one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. The McLaren F1 is another. And one of my all-time favorites is the mid-70's Ferrari Dino 246 GT or GTS (mostly on looks alone, because it has a number of issues, like severe rusting, lousy electronics, leaky roof panel, etc.).
