What other “cool” vehicles do you own or have owned?

Not sure if this is a thread already but I guess I will start. Aside my 99 sr5 4Runner, I currently own a 83 Chevy K10 on swampers and Wifey’s 2020 White Subaru Forester Sport. I have also owned a 1st gen 4Runner, 1992 Toyota Pickup, 1997 M3, 2017 WRX (traded it for the forester), and 1992 Chevy 1500 lifted 2wd 5 speed single cab short bed.

Really looking forward to seeing some of your replies!

Think of it as an EVO 0. 4 door sedan with turbocharged 4G63 manual transmission with all wheel drive and all wheel steering. Only made 2000 in 1991 and 1000 in 1992 for the US market. It was pretty cool but also a real PITA to diagnose or fix.

Cars I currently own besides the 4Runner:

1963 Volvo PV544 rat rod. 2100 lbs, 170 hp, vastly improved handling, acceleration, and braking, still in 'as found' condition:

1993 Volvo 245 wagon. A bit of a sleeper with about 550 hp worth of turbo aluminum 5.3 LS motor and a 6-spd manual trans:

2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. Forged pistons, h-beam rods, Megasquirt, etc. 220 hp at the wheels.

I built for myself the equivalent from Toyota parts - A Celica GT4 drivetrain in a Camry Alltrac. Cool for the right crowd, I suppose...

Stooks really seem to be taking off in value lately.

If we're listing 'other' cars, there's the mildly rare 2003 Jetta TDi 5-spd wagon. TDi wagons with manuals are somewhat rare, made in Germany instead of Mexico, and it was the last year of the much longer lasting ALH motor, replaced in 2004 by the slightly more powerful but weaker Pump Deuse engines.

It's not fancy, or fast, but you have to admire its' Germanic efficiency at doing what it's supposed to do, drive long distances. It gets 45 - 50 mpg on highway trips, going 75 - 80 mph with the A/C blasting. 700 - 750 miles per tank (which is actually somewhat useless, nobody can drive that far without stopping anyhow). And while the footprint of the wagon isn't much bigger than the hatch Golfs, it's got a lot more cargo area in back.

Stooks really seem to be taking off in value lately.

It's crazy man.... People with beat cars asking $15+k. I got a really nice deal on mine which is great. I actually don't like them going up in value as I like autocrossing and starting to track mine. They're tremendously fun and reliable (knock on wood) but parts are starting to go up in price with the value of the car. Also, god for bid I had to replace it, I'm not getting one like I currently have.

Super cool cars and great driving/ownership experience. I'm not too pumped on them going up in value but there will probably not be another car like it. High revving NA engines are gone.
