My first car was a 1968 Pontiac LeMans (luxury version of the GTO) 4bbl. 350 CID V-8 w/326 hp. It was all white with a red leather interior and went like a bat out of hell. The first tank of gas I put in only cost $0.33/gal. Lear 8-track with JBL speakers, later replaced with a Pioneer cassette deck. If that back seat could talk...


In Brazil I had a 1971 FordWillys Jeep CJ-5 equipped with a Ford Maverick I-6 engine before I got my HiLux SW3. Bright orange. Ford bought Willys do Brasil when Chrysler bought the US company and they put the Maverick engine in as the premium power plant. It was a beast off-road.

A few notables....

1987 MR2 hardtop, JDM 4agze engine, Megasquirt- first gze on MS to retain the supercharger, stripped out, race seat. I bought and sold this car 4 times. Last time it went to Canada to make sure it wouldn't come back.

1986 MR2, aka the MK1.22. Had a 1991 MR2 5sfe/s55 swapped in it

1987 MR2 t-top, smallport 7age 11.3:1 build, modified ae102 transmission, megasquirt. This one was so odd - one day a rock bounced up from a car in front, on the freeway, over the T-top, just missed my head, and shattered the back window.

2004 Lexus IS300 sport design, 5sp manual, lsd

1988 Corolla Alltrac wagon (ae95)... just an odd/quirky car

1990 Corolla SR5, smallport 4age swapped, retained the 4afe harness and modified the 4afe ecu to increase the rev range (recrystalled the ecu)

1971 FJ40, 350/350, Megasquirt TBI, frame off rusto-mod (not a typo)

1988 FJ62, was an interesting but kinda boring rig

1993 3x locked FZJ80

2001 LX470

1986 T4R

Handful of hybrids - the oddest being a RX400h... they are "all wheel drive" except only an electric motor drives the rear - so hammer down sometimes had a bit of weird torque steer

1971 Bronco, my dad is/was the third owner and bought it in the mid 80's when I was an infant. It is a factory 302 truck with 3 on the tree. We put a new motor in it when I was in high school, power disc brakes on the front and rebuilt the steering to make it stay in one lane with relative ease. My dad installed carpet (it came with bare metal floors) and reupholstered the seats. It had the rear fenders cut by the original owner but otherwise is basically stock with a Ford 9" rear and Dana 44 front. Needs a few things to be DD reliable again but I will never sell it, too many good memories growing up with this truck.

I also have my grandfathers 62 F100 unibody pickup with big back window. He drove it off the lot new in the fall of 61 when the flathead in his other truck overheated and cracked the block on his way to an annual elk hunting trip. It has 275k miles on it we think, one rebuild of the old Y block. He drove it until he died in 83. It sat for about ten years until I started on it in high school but got in over budget and over my head real quick. I have been assembling parts to build a warmed over y block using vintage Ford parts (high compression heads, 4 barrel, rams horn exhaust, high ratio rockers etc.) for a few years and am nearly ready to dive back in and get this thing on the road again. It is in great shape for its age and mileage but still needs a ton of work as it has been mostly sitting for almost 30 years now, except for the short period where I started going through it.

I had a supercharged 3.4 in a 2wd 97 Tacoma for a couple years. Pulled the supercharger and plan to put it on my 3.4 swapped 86 extra cab Toyota pickup. It has an R151f trans rebuilt my Marlin, front and rear Detroit Truetracs, OME suspension but no lift. Otherwise is basically stock but almost completely rebuilt with OEM Toyota parts. 288k on the clock with about 50k on the 3.4 swap. Sadly, it blew a headgasket last week and I am working on getting a new motor in it. Which ultimately brought me here, found a 3.4 with supposedly only 5k on the clock that was pulled by a dealer when the truck caught on fire. Working through that motor now to figure out if its solid or needs work.

Cool is subjective. But this pretty much everything I've owned the last 20 years. Minus a 1994 Honda Accord LX, 1987 Honda Prelude, and 1986 Toyota Corolla. None of which I have pictures of.

Past:

1985 Celica Supra. Saved from cash for clunkers from the original owner. I regret selling it every day.

2008 Ford Crown Victoria P71. Bought it in 2010 for $5K with 100,000 miles. Put 200,000 on it and drove it for the next decade. It had been a Solano county sheriff car, was special ordered but not a beat car. so probably probation car or something.

2008 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Street Appearance Package. Former CPS administrative car from Orange county. One .gov employee drove it (older lady) and it was gov garaged its entire life. Sadly this is the only car I have ever had an accident in and it was totaled during the pandemic.

PRESENT:

1985 Toyota 4Runner. I built this fresh out of higschool in 2004. Dual cases, rear locker, armor, winch etc. Its fully Rubicon and Fordyce proven but also streetable. Currently awaiting a full restoration as life caused it to sit the last 8 years.

1987 Audi 5000 Quattro. 5 speed turbo I5 with lockers. Currently for sale.

New DD to take miles off the 99 4Runner. 2001 Lexus GS300. 2jz, 140k, just obtained from the second owners. Bay Area CA rich old people. Garaged its entire life. Even came with the window sticker and original books, paperwork, and Lexus first aid kit.

My 01 SVT Lightning was probably the coolest, but my 13 Harley FXDB with a built motor was the fastest. Miss them both. Currently shopping C7 S6's.

God that is sweet. You never see RX7s man that is bad!!!

Normally, I abhor gold/bronze rims. However, that works really well on the white WRX. I agree, that generation of WRX's were small, lightweight, had handling like a go cart and enough power to make them fun! May never find one like that again, or at least not at a reasonable price.

Thanks man, I agree there aint many cars that look works on but on that one whew I loved it.

Still have my E39 540i6 because my 4runner is too reliable and i need something to work on.

Currently working on paint and will never ever do it again because it sucks

also had this for too long and hated it at the end, even with a bigger turbo.
