What should undercoat (for rust proof) looks like?

What should undercoat (for rust protection) look like?

When I bought my 4runner 2 month ago, I also did purchase undercoat protection. But I took a look the bottom side of my 4TR 2 days ago and I didn't see anything like the undercoating. What the undercoating looks like? Does it look like a black painting on all parts of underbody?

I just wondering if the deal forgot to do this process for me.

Yes, it should be black and except for all parts of the exhaust system, drive shaft, and maybe a couple of other things under there you should be able to tell that all of the structural under body parts are coated. It's a tar-like substance and actually dripped onto my garage floor for a couple of days before it cured. It also emits a distinct odor for about a week as well. You should have received some documentation from the dealer about this, ie warranty info, etc. as well.
