/what size deck plate?

Hi all!,
I'm finding alot of valuable info on this forum and lovin it.
I want to do the deck plate mod, and finding out the 4" or 6" has been the choice of the members.
Obviously the 6" will allow more air ,but what is the con to this?
Like wise what 's pros and cons to the 4"?
Should the ECU be reset afterwards to get max. gains?
