Stock stereo isn't cuttting it, the mids are horrible, not good speakers. Cructhfield doesn't have info. on replacement sizes either.

So what size are in the front doors? Has anyone put in component speakers instead? Looks like a 5x7 or something in the front door. And the rear doors? I plan to replace all the speakers.

Thanks!

components are the only way to go, especially since thats how the stock is set up for, my recomendation is boston comps or alpine x series, if you like music its worth the money

in my opinion crutchfield is the worst place to get stuff, just because most of it is crap, first off i think you should go around to some stereo shops and listen to some speakers, because everyone has different tastes...
i sold car and home audio for several years and my favs were boston proseries and jL subs, i cant think of any sites off hand but there are some where you can get them for pretty damn cheap, also depending on where you buy the speakers, you can deal and get a better price especially if it is a "mom and pop shop" or places like the good guys... any place that works on commision

Spend some money if your in to sound.... Im not sure on newer Runners, but I would not go to wal-mart for my sound system in my 88. Ill bet that the stock speakers in a newer runner sound a ton better than in my 88 and Im running a jvc 45x4 head unit with a DHD(never heard of them till i bought em) amp and DHD 10"(in a box).... sounds good with the other stock speakers running off my stereo. depends on what kind of money you want to spend... but i installed mine myself and spent a little over 200 bucks:rocker:

dont think that 200 bucks is a lot by any means when it comes to your system.... I know of people that spend 200 bucks on labor for a 2000 dollar system... im just saying that i got lucky and took a gamble on something ive never heard of.... ask people around you that know.... youll find a good deal eventually
