First off, hello everyone I am new to this site (because I just got my 4runner) I just wanted to get some feedback from those of you who have had yours a while.

I got my 87 4runner from my inlaws for free (they are so nice to me) and I want to make it more mine so I gotta change some things.

I want to put a roof rack on mine but I'm really not to crazy about the ones suggested in the other posts, they just look too mass produced. I want you to see mine and say "hey where did he get that!?!"

This is what I want to get

That price is not what it will cost for my dimensions it will be $250.

I want to get it because when we go camping some stuff just won't fit inside with the kids, and some things you just don't want in the 4runner, you know like fuel.

Let me know what you think, if you don't like it tell me that too; but suggest an alternative don't just pick on the new guy

here is a pic of my project

we just finished preping it for paint, I think it will be done in 2 weeks. It was 100% rust free (from arizona) but the sun had it's way with the clear coat so we decided to fix it up. Just painted those stock white wheels with duplicolor wheel paint, IMO it looks SO much better.

wow good idea, i just went out and bought some wheel paint for my 4runner, btw, did you somehow edit that picture? cuz there's like too front ends on one car, it looks very odd

No there isnt, if you look closely there is a chrome brush guard on it. I have seen some that come down underneath the top an bolt down on the top mount bolts. kind of homemade but better than drilling the fiberglass top. there are literally hundreds of aftermarket items for 1st Gens so its not too hard to do things to make your runner different. Looks like your starting from good stock though. Welcome to T4R and keep the pics coming

Yeah genlrony is correct, it is a chrome brush guard. My father-in-law had it put on some time ago. I think that I will keep it because it bolts on to the frame and if I get stuck in sand I could just use it as a lifting point for a hi-lift jack. I'll try to add some more pics



here is how it looked before the body work and the wheel paint, body work was for two good sized dents that turned into a hunt for every single ding by my friend, oh well he ment well



The white wheels had to go!!!! but I think I will be getting these soon.
