Hey,
I just got my 1999 4runner, V6 SR5, and I'm slowly upgrading...
I just had ALL the routine maintenance done, put new All-Terrain Tires on by BFG (265/70/16), installed a K&N CAI, which sounds GREAT, drastically improved the acceleration, and I'm hoping if I keep my driving habits the same, that the mileage may at LEAST stay the same, if not increase slightly.
Next I'm going to put clear corners on with amber bulbs, and clear brake lights with the red underneath.
ANYWAYS, to the point...
I'm going to install a full sound system in the truck soon, and I'm just trying to figure out what brands to purchase, and where to mount the amp and subwoofer.
SUBWOOFER: I'm thinking about making a custom box for my 10" JBL that goes over the wheelwell (which I only need 1 of, im not a big bass person), as some others have done on here. Can you buy this custom box, or do I have to make it myself? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
AMPLIFIER: I'm considering installing the amp in the back in the little compartment thing, or under the front passenger seat. Any suggestions?
SPEAKERS: What brand would you guys recommend? I have a guy who will provide and install Clarion's all the way around for $180. I may do the installation myself t save $. Also, should I replace the tweeters? Any suggestions, brandwise or otherwise?
I would really appreciate some feedback and suggestions.
