What Spark Plug does your owners manual indicate for your 4th generation 4runner?

Here is what I found. Top Toyota parts guy says that the 4runner V8 comes from the factory with Denso - SK20R11 spark plugs (Iridium plugs) which should be good for around 120K miles. I also checked two large Toyota dealerships and their service recommendations indicate a spark plug change for the 2003/2004 4runner V8 at 120K miles. Funny how hard it was to find this information, and the fact that the maintaince guide in my 2004 4runner is writen in such away that it would make me believe they should be changed at 60K miles ( I think this Toyota maintance guide is very poorly written and trys to cover too many vehicles in one book ). If you have looked at your guide you know what I mean. Wish I wasn't so cheap, I would buy a service manual. Oh well now you know 
The SK20R11 is identified as an Iridium plug on Denso's website (http://www.denso.com.sg/tpl/pdtlineup_plug_lineup.html). This is the Denso plug my owner's manual specifies. However, the NGK equivalent specified in the manual, IFR6A11, doesn't appear to be Iridium.
If I get time, I'll pull one of my plugs tomorrow and see which it is, since the appearance of the Iridium plugs is distinctive. Sure would be nice if is Iridium. 120K intervals would be welcome.
I heartily agree, the maintenance guide is very poorly written and ambiguous on the issue of plug change intervals.

The repair manual (2004) calls for spark plugs on the V8 (2UZ-FE engine) to be replaced every 200,000 km (works out to 120,000 miles or so). The recommended plug is Denso - SK20R11 or NGK - IFR6A11.

In mine it states that all SUV's/Trucks need plugs changed at 60K miles except the Landcruiser. I wonder how many dealers get unsupecting owners to change their plugs at 60K miles???

V6 plugs
Finally got to look in my manuals. Under Service specifications (Section 8, pg 391 of Owner's Manual) the V6 spark plug calls for a DENSO K20HR-U11 or NGK LFR6C11. These are non-Iridium. The V8 calls for Iridium replaced every 192,000 km (120,000 mi) (pg 22, Specific Maintenance Services in Recommended Maintenance in Owner's Manual Supplement.) The V6 calls for standard plugs replaced every 36 mths / 48,000 km (30,000 mi). Back to my original question earlier in this thread: Can I use Iridium plugs at the first change and lengthen out the changes on the V6 or will I damage something? Will I void the warranties? I would rather get a real answer here than listen to the stealership that wants to sell me services.

Actually, as I read my Service Guide, it appears to say that plug changes aren't needed until 120K. But it does so in a very round-about, hard-to-follow fashion, and I can easily see how it could be interpreted as indicating 60K miles. Not a great job of writing, IMHO.

Well I wouldn't put in the same plug as the V8; plug dimensions must be different (i.e., electrode depth, etc.) In fact, unless there is an exact Iridium replacement listed by Denso or NGK for the V6, I would stick to the stock plug (safest warranty wise too). I'm not sure whether the plugs for V6 are Platinum or not. Anyway, it's going to cost you more. I would guess that the Iridium plugs are more expensive, possibly by a factor of 2,3 or even 4 times. Who knows? Anyone bought them yet (either for the V6 and/or V8)? So all you're missing out on is less installations. The plugs, on the V6, look fairly straightforward and relatively easy to get at.
