What straps do you use?

I have a Bubba, Bubba Rope. So far nice and clean as I haven't had to use it yet, but I'm sure I'll find a Jeep sooner or later.

I honestly can't recall the brand, but I have a 30' 4" wide tow strap and 10k lb shackles

erickson

i just bought an erickson 2x30 the other day. haven't used it yet but sales guy recommended it so we`ll see

I have a 30ft snatch strap (unknown brand), a 50ft winch extension strap (ARB) and a 15ft drag chain (ARB)

Anything without hooks, and stay away from chain as well. I would never offer to pull anyone out if all they had was a strap with hooks or chain. Have seen the aftermath of them breaking first-hand.

Couldn't tell you anymore what kind of straps I have. They are snatch straps though, and have held up well. Try to grab at least one tree-saver strap and some 10Klb D-rings as well in case you need a solid strap with little to no stretch, and a mounting point.

Do most of you carry both a snatch (elastic) and recovery strap? I was kicking myself down on the White Rim two weeks ago for not picking up an ARB Snatch Strap before leaving. All we had was recovery straps to pull a 5500# Jeep two miles, and it needed to be doubled to halve the distance for sharp corners. Many of the times that we let some slack in the line it wasn't obvious to me as I couldn't see the strap in the mirror, and when the 4Runner pulled it back into tension it was very abrupt. Painfully so, being a new vehicle.

I've read that snatch straps aren't typically used for towing, but I sure would have used it to soften the jolts if I'd had one!
