What the CLUNK is going on with my 2000 4x4 SR5?

That mount will compress when weighted. It doesn't look bad from the pics. The bolt in the center is the 'safety' for when the rubber does go bad or if large forces are put on the mount (think, rollover accident). It should be solid in there, but there will be clearance for normal mount movement.

Quick update. After reinstalling the rear drive shaft I replaced a bad zerk in my front prop shaft, lubed the joint, and went for a quick cruise down the street. The noise coming from under the truck is greatly reduced, leading me to believe that it could be a worn/bad ujoint in the prop shaft. I'll pull the prop shaft and run it by the local driveline shop for a quick inspection. I haven't installed the trans mount yet, but I did confirm that all mounting hardware is snug, I couldn't find anything loose under the rig.

After everything that I touched/inspected/researched surrounding the noise coming from my 4Runner...it ended up being a bad wheel bearing on the drivers side rear. There was no noise or play when the rig was on jackstands, nor did I have a leaking axle seal. I paid Autonation Toyota $725 for the repair as I had no desire to tackle the job myself and they offered a 12k mile or 12 month warranty. Thanks for all of the help, you guys rule.

OP have you check your rear UCA and LCA bolts ?

Nvm just read you figured it out. Rear wheel bearing will travel. And will be hard to diagnose sometimes
