What the heck is going on???.....

Hey Guys,

I just installed an Alpine MRP-F300 amp and everything sounds great......only when the A/C is turned off. When I turn it on, every 15 to 30 seconds I get a pop in my front speakers since I only have the front components hooked up. Is it a bad ground from the amp or the HU?? Or is it something else? Thanks for your time and I really need help oon this solution.

You might get a faster answer if you ask this same question on a speaker/audio specific forum where a there are probably a ton of experts on this type of thing. Although I know there are some very capable audio-types around here.

The way I'd do this is start with the easiest ground to check, probably the amp, then I'd move on to the speaker wire connections (make sure nothing is getting pinched or is coming loose), then I'd move on to the deck ground.

Basically it's like mechanical problems, you start with the easiest/cheapest fix and move on from there.

After ruling out the grounds, I'd take-out one speaker and see if it still does it etc...

Where did you connect your amp control wire ? Sounds like the noise you're getting may be in sync with the a/c compressor cycling.

It sounds like probably a ground loop, sounds like you may have used the same ground as your AC electronics.

I would definitely check that first. Maybe clean up the area around whatever you used, or try another spot.
