What the hell is this intermittent clicking noise?

Do yall have any idea on what this random click/pop noise either coming from the seat or the console? Driving me nuts! I rock the seat and it does not do it. It does it randomly when the truck is leaning side to side. Does anyone else's 4runner do this? Thanks.

I had something similar drive me nuts for months. it turned out to be the rear drivers side seat, where the seat locks into place on the side of the truck. there was a little bit of back and forth movement in on the seat and the seat lock mechanisim was sliding back and forth on the loop that it locks to and i think the dry metal on metal was producing that sound. little dab of grease on the loop and it never came back.

Did you have to pull the bottom seat cushion up to get to the loop?

yes it is actually the loop that secures the seat back to the body. just lower the seat and put a little bit of grease on the front section of the loop where the latch on the seat back engages it.

I rocked the back seat and didn't hear any sounds. So maybe it is either the front seat or the console. You think?

i heard the noise when i pulled side to side on the seat from the headreast

No resolution of the issue. It sounds like it is coming from the center console and close to the stick shift.

I also noticed this about 2 weeks ago and I can't figure out if it's coming from under the driver seat, the center console, or the shift stick area. It's only happening when turning (left or right), accelerating, or stopping harder than normal.

It almost sounds like something is sliding and then clicks. I've taken everything out to make sure nothing in the center console, glove box, or other storage locations are causing it. Even thoroughly checked under the seat for anything that might be loose.

I was going to say something to the dealer about it, but after reading up on this I'll try the greasing it before jumping through hoops with the dealer.
