I looked up replacing the dampener, but $361 to fffinggg much! So with some searching I come across this replacement dampener for way less and a little drilling. Have any of y'all done this before, if not I'm adding it to the pile of stuff to do someday.

I cast a soft silicone insert that straddles the weight and keep it from clanking on itself. The silicone is soft enough to where I might be getting some dampening action out of it too!

If anyone wants one shoot me a pm $12 shipped.

does using almost soley 4 wheel drive make the part more important?

We only use the vehicle for off road so it's almost always in 4 wheel drive, noticed the damper was cracked and thought should replace so nothing bad happens with transfer case out in the boonies but at $500 bucks here in CA wondering if i really need to??
