I currently have 5 year old Coopers that are at half life. The bad part is the truck shakes and wanders at +55mpg even after a discount tire balance and rotation.
So I'm thinking of tossing them as well as my rims.
I was looking at getting Crager Soft 8s ($60) and some GY MT/R, but here is the thing- will this meet my needs?
3x a year hitting the dunes at Silver Lake
1x a year Nevada Desert excursions
Daily in Michigan winters (lake effect snow).
I'm also torn on size. Fuel economy is more important then lift so a 2-3mpg lost for a 1inch size increase does not seem wise.
I've also heard MTRs are no good in the snow, would going to a 9" tire help, or would that hurt me to much for wheeling in the sand dunes?
