What to do First With $1000

Why don't you go ahead and get the front and rear lockers.
You can camp out and be patient and get a rear E-locker for $400-600 and an Aussie front locker for around $300. I'd rather do those now than waiting till later since you want a trail rig.

I had about $800 to spend and have been sitting on it for a few months now waiting untill the parts I wanted surfaced. In the last week I have found a new in box TRD exhaust, New OBX headers, and A340 IPT valve body upgrade all for $835. And I picked up a set of land cruiser 8 wrap rear coils for $30 as well

Last year when I bought my truck under the idea of blowing it, I imeediately began looking.
I found my supercharger for $750, bought the URD 7th Fuel upgrade kit and other miscelaneous pulleys, and now have my VB upgrade and full exhaust. It is an awesome feeling putting out 300hp.

Oh and in the midst of all that, I found a 4runner part out where I snagged the complete rear end with E locker as well as the front diff with 4:30 gears to be able to handle 33s no problem. All for $450. I was very patient and hunted for all my parts daily until I found them.

yea id love to lock but the reason i haven't is because i have a friend that has front and rear air locker and i like those because you can turn them on and of when needed so ill be doing air lockers.

E-locker is the same. It just does it electronically instead of with compressed air. That's what the factory locker is - hit the button, and you're locked, hit it again and you're unlocked.

You could also do a projector retrofit. That should be about $200-300 and from the people who have done it, it is well worth it. You could get some sliders as well to protect your body.

A locker is the single best upgrade for trail riding that you can get. That would be my first upgrade if that's what you plan on doing.

sounds like you have the mechanical under control, I wish you lived near by I would make sure you and I became friends! I hear toyota mechanics make good friends!

I would shop around for LC front coils to lift the rear and do some research as to how you want to lift the front, you want to build your own bumpers so I would recommend OME 882's for the front. hit up CL for the rims you want, I just found 3 sets of sweet wheels for about $300 for the set. there is your $1000 spent, take your next 2 checks and buy some 285/75 bfg at's then start building your bumpers throughout the winter and by spring you'll be ROLLN!!!!

I found lift coils w/shocks on cl anywhere from 200 on up depending on what they were, I bought my coils off cl from a guy that upgraded and paid only about $500 total for my lift, FYI. you can make that grand go pretty far if you research and do some shopping!

Yea i wished i lived farther out by you it seems theres more people with toyotas out there. and i have front lc coils already i just havnt put them on because i dont have anything to lift the front so. i got the coils for free from my uncle because he put ome lift on. i was thinking of doing the toytec front coilovers? i really havent heard anything bad about those. just a little pricey lol. And we can still be friends if you need anything let me know in a pm and ill find out for you.
