what to do to exhaust get the deepest sound?

Was it the larger tubes that made it sound rice-ish? If not we have a problem here.

You are saying yours was rice-ish, but we have a video of Jason's and it sounds pretty good. Maybe you could listen to his and see if that's what yours sounded like.

I got my Vortex for $100 installed and kept my stock muffler. I guess I got lucky.

Good question... it was a loud deeper sound no doubt. But it was nowhere close to a V8 truck with dual exhaust. I know i shouldnt really expect that for a V6 engine but I did.

I did listen to Jason's a whole lot before I ordered the muffler. thats where I ordered it.

I guess if you do install one keep the stock tubing and keep your damn stock muffler.... or you'll pay for it.

I can't see why it's so expensive to put smaller tubing in when it's pretty cheap to put bigger in.

I can see the muffler costing a lot of money though.

So you thought the Cherrybomb was deep? When I think rice I think high pitch and annoying loud.

As some others have said... It's all opinion, I would consider the flowmaster 80 series, only problem is it's a dual out and there's nowhere to mount it (unless you remove the spare)
And a larger diameter exhaust pipe will also "deepen" the sound.

Yea, I just LOVE the Vortex muffler. I have it on my own truck, for over 5+ years now, and love it. Everyone thinks it's a V8. Super deep low tone.

Wow, after listening to some these videos I must say I miss the sound of my Jeep. A cheap Thrush muffler and that 5.2L V8 sounded way better than what I have heard from the 4Runner. I have yet to hear a really good clip of an exhaust on this car
