What to do, what to do...build options!!!

Well...its officially totaled according to the insurance company. The buy back option was $2500. Now comes the fun part...what to build!!! Decisions decisions!!! I've been fighting with myself for almost 5 years to keep it off of the rocks and out of the woods in order to keep it looking like new. However...the time has come!!!!
PLEASE NOTE...I'm not interested in parting anything out. Please stop asking.

My window shatters when rubbed up against a stump lightly . Yours stays intact as a tree falls on it. Toyotas are so wierd

Lol, yeah...I was pretty amazed at that as well! It peeled the metal away from the window and left about a 3/4 inch gap. I'm thinking chopped is the way to go!

There is a post somewhere about someone interested in chopping his Runner, I bet he'd appreciate that course of action, and I must admit I would like to see it as well I wonder, could you weld in the rear of a PU, w/ a back sliding window, then have open bed, maybe rhino lined? Feck that would be bad ass :boxer:

Thor999, Scroll down to my post from yesterday titled 4Runner + tree/storm = no bueno. There were a few pics posted from a bobtailed 4Runner. He basically just moved the hatch forward so the cab would still be enclosed, but you could still roll the rear window down, and it left space for a small bed where a spare tire was mounted. It even appears as though he rhinolined it! That's what I'm thinking! I'll get on top of the t4r.org sticker before it meets the angle grinder!

Sorry 4Running Daily...I'm keeping everything intact. Except for maybe the rear glass, top sheet metal, parts of fenders, etc.!!!

Im still sticking with my original idea of a bottle jack and a 2x4. Tape off the glass or take it out completely if your worried about it. If your not chopping it of course :lookout:

How hard is it to take out that piece of glass I wonder? I'm eventually going to chop it I imagine. I will be keeping it on the road for now so I don't want to risk having to drive around with a busted window! I've got a line on a fully loaded 2011 F-150 Ecoboost FX4 with 9000 miles on it for his payoff of 32k. It belongs to a buddy of mine and he is wanting a new F-250. I really need a pick-up for work. I'm going to go bust my hump at work for a month so I can build up my downpayment so the monthly note won't be so high.

I tried the bottle jack idea yesterday but used the handle of a sledgehammer instead. It may not look like new...but it sure does look better!! Stayed away from the window though.

Kinda hard to tell the difference because I didn't take any pics of it after the tree was off but that whole area has been raised about 6 inches!

Look up mossyrocks build on pirate4x4 and what he did with the top. I like his chop and as long as u cut fairly straight and fill it, you should get a good result.

Planning on chopping it eventually. There's another post of mine titled Truck + Tree/storm = No Bueno. There are some good pics of a chopped 3rd Gen in there that I plan on doing. Basically removing the rear 1/4 windows and the metal over the top, and moving the rear hatch just about to where the rear seat headrests would rest on the glass. I'm pumped about it! Going to wait a few though...still driving the 4Runner. Getting ready to buy a 2011 F-150 FX4 Ecoboost off of a buddy of mine. Going to work pretty solid for the next few weeks so I can put down around 15k on that truck so my payments won't be so high.
