What to use for visor storage?

I finally realized that I have not touched the 10 CDs I have in a holder attached to my driver side sun visor. I'd like to replace it with a good organizer and was wondering what you guys use for pens, receipt holders, etc. I've seen prices from $5-$40 and am trying to keep my costs around there.

All help is appreciated!

I have 4 places, front seat, back seat, glove box and center console. Alright seriously though for receipts I have a leather organizer/ folder and put it behind one of the seats in the pocket. Any other random things, I usually just toss it in the center console(pens, napkins, pressure gauge...etc)

The last thing you want in your sun visor is a bunch of craps like pens, cards, a calculator ect.

Put that stuff in the glove box.

judgement - I throw out what I am not using so I dont have to store it. I dont store a bunch of misc crap in vehicles, or my home for that matter.

This, I keep the registration and owners manual in the glovebox. Insurance card is in my wallet. I also keep my pistol in the glove-box. The center conosle holds some cologne, a cell-phone charger, some kleenex, and a few pens. The door pocket holds a pair of winter gloves, pass seat-back holds a backup dog leash and water bowl, drivers side has a few bottles of water. The rear storage compartment holds jumper cables and some bungee cords in a bag. I also have a few motorcycle type tie downs rolling around in the cargo area. I try to keep as little stuff as possible in my rig, since every extra 100lbs you have in the vehicle costs 1% gas mileage or something like that.

You guys make some good points. Maybe I'm just so used to having that CD holder up there that I could stick a pen or small pieces of paper in that I now need to get used to not having anything up there. Old habits die hard for me.

meh, i just left it up there and it now houses paper work ....it's never fallen out and frees up room else where

I ended up stopping by my local advance auto and picked up an organizer for $7. I figured I owed it to myself to try a cheapy. Hopefully it lasts.

So... has it lasted? I'm trying to find organizers solutions for my '99; came across this post and couldn't help but wonder if there was a long term update/review.

I hate clutter, but I also find storage is a weak point on these. The glove box is quite small.

I also lost the rear storage compartment to a flush fit sub enclosure

The later style centre console is handy, with the "upper" and "lower" sections, the JDM radio surround is also triple DIN, so there is a DIN sized storage slot in there (wallet sized). The thing I struggle with most is a place to store my gate remote (Homelink isn't a thing outside the states). I don't like the look of sun visor organisers, seat cover pouches etc, so I just try to carry less clutter.

I always keep a corner of a rag in the fuse box though where there is a space for checking the oil.

Funny is post came back to life. The cheap visor did its job but the elastic pen holders and slot that held business cards were sagging badly. I actually just bought the Blue Ridge Overland visor organizer last month and it is far superior!

That Blue Ridge Overland Visor organizer is at the top of my "likely solution" list. I wish there was a center console organizer and/or a glove box organizer like the ones Salex makes. (Not so subtle hint to Salex : if you make one you can sell it to us 3rd Gen 4Runner guys as well as the 1st Gen Tacomas since I think they may have the same glove box(?))
