What Toyota do you wish they still made?

I always liked the 2nd gen 4x4 short cab Taco, it had the perfect wheelbase and weight for a great off road project. Add a cap for extra versatility.

Really bummed they killed it off for the 3rd generation.

So many good ones to pick from, but I'd probably vote FJ80. Just the right mix of size, civility, simplicity, and capability imo:

3rd gen 4Runner for sure. It's the absolute perfect vehicle for my needs. Would buy a brand new on in a second if I could. Can only imagine what one would feel like today with a bit more modern update. Probably would have far better power to weight numbers than the original.

I have heard the FJ is going to be making a comeback soon. This time with a front and rear locking diff to compete with the Wrangler. Maybe they'll just go back and call it a Land Cruiser rather than FJ. Or maybe like Jeep they'll just up the letter to FK.

The FJ80 would do it for me, little bigger, little more refined than the 3rd gen runner, dual lockers from factory, all it needed was different engine, say a 4.2 or so V8 with 350 hp or so.

Yes, a 80 that that gets better than 13 MPG would be perfect for me . More on topic , I REALLY miss my old 87 FJ60 .

I owned a 92 Toyota Pickup Long Bed. Last year they made the long bed. I put a topper on it, bed liner, particle board, carpet foam, and carpet. Great 7" long bed. Sold it with 410k still running.

Still have my 80, it's been out of service for over 6 months with a blown rear diff. I really need to get off my ass and replace it.

And hopefully the new 6th gen is a remake of the 3rd gen but with a 1st gen style removable roof!
