What was the best TRD Pro 4Runner color up to 2018?

Buying a TRD Pro in anything other than the unique colors is pretty pointless. You are essentially paying a premium for nothing.

Which is fine for that model year, but then it goes on any other Toyota as a regular color and is no longer unique.

That being said, I do like the Quicksand and Cement quite a bit, but dropped my Cement order once I saw the Barcelona Red:girl::girl:

I had every color since 2016. My favorite one i owned was quicksand. Second choice was cement.

Example: 2017 Cement, it was only on 4runner pro and Tacoma Pro in 2017 but on other none Pro Tacomas in 2018 (i think Tundras too) but NOT on other trim levels of the 4runner in 2018. Same with Inferno and Quicksand, also looks like you can not buy a cavarly in 2019 on a 4runner.

So.... unlikely they will offer any of those again on any trim in 2020, the last year of the 5th gen, which will be annonunced early 2019, on dealer lots in September 2019 as a 2020 model. Most likely a 6th gen will be announced early 2020 and at dealers fall of 2020 as a 2021 model.

Now, will they make more cool funky gray, red and blue colors? Of course, but they will be different.

Yes, the Pro color only made it on the Tacoma’s and Tundra’s the model year after the release on the T4RP (no tundra for 2018, but previous years they did, guessing they’ll probably do so in the future). They haven’t been released on the T4R’s, which my last post didn’t clearly mention. And a few of the special colors are colors used on previous model Toyota’s and Scion’s.

In the end, it really just boils down to what someone wants. I would have really liked a quicksand, but that color was long gone by the time I started looking. The Cement is a great color and I wanted one a lot, until I saw the red, which is funny as I normally don’t like red cars. It was the vehicle itself I wanted, so as long as I liked the color, I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything. In my area I’ve seen every other color of the Pro and they all look good! I’ve seen more cements than any other color, but generally only one of the other colors (haven’t come across another red yet).

So, which color is the best? I still say red because mine is red, but really they all look pretty damn sweetarty:

Theres a lot of speculation about that green being the final color...and wishful thinking. There also rumors of a "final edition" like there was with the fj80.... who knows. Wait and see.... maybe or maybe nothing at all or another shade of blue. Rumors.... will the 6th gen have a v8 with an 8spd tranny? (b/c it will not be diesel) Or will it be unibody with no solid rear axle and no roll down back window and hybrid. Time will tell...time will tell. If either the FT-AC or FT-4X concepts get made (and one of them will), the dated 4runner may get neutered.
