What was your previous ride?

Just curious to get a sense of what the current Toyota owners here were driving in the past. What did you have as your immediate previous vehicle (not your entire vehicle history) prior to this Toyota?

I'll start. I came from a rust-bucket GMC Jimmy T10.

I miss my little nissan truck because it was dropped with some flowmaster exhaust....so much fun to drive.

I wish I bought my 1979 bronco brand new (although I was born in 1980...go figure) because that must be one of the best vehicles to drive. Not to mention the removable roof...too cool. By the time I bought it, it was a rust bucket and a way too expensive rebuild for me. Hopefully someone rescued her after i took out a frozen foods delivery van.

A 1999 Range Rover HSE. Won't purchase a Range Rover again. The warranty goes out and everything fails. Put WAY too much money into that thing.

1998 T4R Limited 4X2. I miss that thing it was a beast even though it was still a 2WD. I almost rolled it several times, used to yank the E-Brake everyother day. It is a wonder the thing still runs, it is a testament to Toyota's ruggedness.

Just prior to the T4R I had an '05 Titan CC w/off-road package. A very nice truck that had a couple of issues. I'd bet an '07 or '08 is a pretty nice truck but the competition has evolved too.

I liked it and miss it sometimes but I have a couple of work-owned trucks when I need a truck...

I had a 99 RR as well. I LOVED that truck, but damn was maintenance and repair expensive!!!! Took a NASTY beating on trade in.

I always joked that the HSE stood for "Holy Shit repairs are Expensive"

2002 BMW M5. Two tone interior, Sport package, Bass Enhancement package. I loved that car with a passion. Unfortunately last fall I lost control of her on a semi-wet road, my back axle slammed into an embankment at such a high force (my speed was only about 40 MPH) at an angle, and the axle split in half in the middle, and then continued to penetrate through the trunk

here's my pitiful text replica of what my axle should look like and what it did look like after my accident:

Haha! That is a great acronym! :lmao: I too loved my RR but sadly had to let her go. Now someone is stuck with something that he/she is going to have to put a lot of money into for years to come.

great little sedan - got tired of replacing the transmissions after the 4th breakdown and a week in the shop each time

wonder if Acura ever fixed this major design defect ?
turns out some of these failed in the first 10 miles out of the dealership

took a beating on the trade-in since this problem became very well known
