the tru trac, like all lsd's is a full carrier replacement, which will require you to press new bearings on, and set up the diff. You may be lucky and just have to mess with the backlash, but its possible that you may have to change the pinion depth as well.
My comment on cv's was more leaning towards they both break cv's, and IMO lockers are probably easier on the diff because you no longer have to worry about having momentum to make it up stuff. You can be easy on the gas and smooth. The lsd's are good until you lift a tire and really need them.
Once you lock the front end it will bind up on hard surfaces, but as long as you know that and understand that your 4wd is for the trail only. Heres my issues with the costs. the Aussie locker is under $300 shipped. You can install it yourself, it replaces the spider and side gears, There is no tire size restriction for the warranty unlike Lock rights which says 33's or smaller. so for under $300 you lock it up. The lsd doesnt work anywhere near as good as a locker offroad. especially in rocks or where you are lifting tires. That tru trac costs around $500, plus you will probably want new bearings and need an install kit. A master install kit from ecgs is $205. and then you will need it setup. Yota masters in corona quoted me $325 for labor for the 7.5 front clamshell setup. Thats $1030 for something that you will likley cut out in an sas anyways
